Indie RPGs on mobile worth clearing space for

Everyone talks about the massive gacha RPGs, but the smaller indie corner of the genre is where we've had the most fun lately. These games trade spectacle for craft, and it usually pays off.

Emberfall Saga is our current favorite. It's proof that a modest team can write a story worth caring about and back it with combat that asks you to think. It never wastes your time with padding.

What we love about indie RPGs is their willingness to be weird. Without a huge budget to protect, they take swings on odd settings and unusual systems, and the misses are as interesting as the hits.

If you've drifted away from mobile RPGs, give the smaller ones a look. Skip the front page, dig a little, and you'll find something with actual heart.
