The case for cozy games you play before sleep

April 16, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

Some nights you don't want a challenge, you want a wind-down. That's a real category of game, and mobile is honestly the perfect home for it. A phone in your hand under the blanket is the natural habitat of the cozy genre.

Tiny Orchard Days and Lantern Hollow both fit here, though they're very different. One is a slow farming loop, the other a quiet adventure, but both lower your shoulders instead of raising them.

What we look for in a bedtime game is the absence of pressure. No timers, no punishing failure states, no notifications guilting you into returning. Just a soft loop you can step away from anytime.

Turn your brightness down, mute if you like, and let these games do their gentle thing. Sometimes the best game of the night is the one that helps you close your eyes.
